The Irwin-Hodson Company has been a member of the Portland business community for over a century.   Originally founded in 1892, The Ben C. Irwin Company operated as a small printing and bookbinding business.  In 1894, Ben C. Irwin partnered with Clarence Hodson and The Irwin-Hodson Company was officially born.

The Irwin-Hodson Company has been family owned since 1954 when E. A. McDonald, Sr. became president. E.A. McDonald, Jr. joined the company in 1952. He followed his father as president in 1974 and served in that capacity until his death in 1985. His son, T.J. McDonald, is the current President with Mark S. McDonald serving as Vice President.   Heir apparent Nick McDonald is currently the Sales Manager.

The Irwin-Hodson Company has evolved over the years along with the shifting market trends.  In mid 2008, the printing division provided differentiation from its sister division (Marking, Promotional and Custom Products) by re-branding with the name "Irwin Hodson Press".   Specializing in commercial work—annual reports, marketing collateral, catalogs, art prints and calendars that utilize UV technology.
